Pizzicato Magazine has a new review for Kyle Bielfield and Lachlan Glen’s stopping by release. Read the full review in the original language at www.pizzicato.lu. English translation by Lindsay Koob:
“This CD – with its highly varied program of American songs, delivered by a duo that grabs one’s attention right from the start – is a very pleasant surprise. I can say ‘duo’ with certainty, since – aside from my deep admiration of the tenor Kyle Bielfield – his Australian piano collaborator, Lachlan Glen, impresses one as an active partner who consistently creates the kinds of moods that help the singer give each song its unique character. Bielfield has quite a lovely singing voice, with an amiably pleasing timbre, a brilliant top end and excellent vocal production. He sings distinctly and clearly, thus bringing – appropriately and with confidence – perfect expressive power to the program. ‘Stopping By’, a varied program of American Art Song, is an absolutely ravishing recital.” —Remy Franck, Pizzicato
