“SUMMIT MUSIC FESTIVAL celebrates its 21st season as New York’s summer institute for extensive chamber music and instrumental training. Founded in 1991 by members of the highly regarded Emelin Trio, the festival offers young musicians a unique opportunity for preprofessional training.
The three-week festival brings together an international faculty of the highest caliber, representing the finest traditions of Europe, Asia, and the American continents. Each year, students from all over the world assemble for concentrated study with these pre-eminent artists. We offer an instrumental and chamber music program for high school, college, and young professionals (ages 14 and up). We also offer an adult program for the avocational musician. In addition, the Summit Music Festival features a daily array of special events, such as concerts, lectures, and master classes throughout the three-week music festival.
Summit Music Festival exposes the student to the highest level of artistry and mastery of instrumental playing. This festival is an ideal environment for young professionals to connect with and learn from established professionals and preeminent musicians who can be influential in their career path. Our international music festival program is geared for the highly self-motivated and independent music student. The intensive schedule focuses on close student-faculty collaboration through individual, chamber and orchestral study. Through rigorous preparation for the concerto competition or solo performance along with in-depth ensemble experiences, the students will have the opportunity to reach new heights.”
