Celebrate with Delos the exciting debut recording from the Dallas International Organ Competition, Winner James Diaz. Diaz’s 2000 winning performance joins his Gold Medal from the 1994 Calgary International Organ Festival Competition and his First Prize award from the 1994 Fort Wayne Organ Competition. With an active recital schedule that takes him throughout Europe and North America, Mr. Diaz has also given World Premiere performances of Schwantner’s September Canticle with the Dallas Symphony in 2002 and Concerto for Organ and Orchestra by Gunther Schuller with the Calgary Philharmonic. Mr. Diaz’s debut recording embraces the Baroque of J.S. Bach and Johann Reincken as well as the contemporary compositions of John Cook and Jean Langlais. This special recording offers a special French flavor with works by Dupre, Franck and Vierne.
