The Newly-Formed Philharmonia of Russia Under Constantine Orbelian Dazzle and Delight On Vodka & Caviar

Delos presents Vodka & Caviar: The Ultimate Russian Spectacular, a sonic blockbuster introducing conductor Constantine Orbelian’s newly-formed Philharmonia of Russia, an orchestra incorporating la creme de la creme of Russian musicians. Vodka & Caviar boasts the grandest, most exquisite and most popular opera and ballet music from the Russian repertoire, including evergreen melodies such as Khachaturian’s above-mentioned Adagio, and Sabre Dance from Gayaneh; Borodin’s Polovtsian Dances from Prince Igor; and dances from Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin Swan Lake and Sleeping Beauty. The Philharmonia of Russia is Constantine Orbelian’s own assemblage of today’s outstanding Russian musicians. The result is an ensemble epitomizing the Russian style on a grand scale – with an orchestra of 120 players, joined for the Borodin by the fine Spiritual Revival Choir of Russia. The result is truly a Russian Spectacular.
