Sondra Radvanovsky and Dmitri Hvorostovsky to Perform Il Trovatore Together at the Metropolitan Opera and a Theater Near You
The Metropolitan Opera presents Delos artists Sondra Radvanovsky and Dmitri Hvorostovsky in Il Trovatore beginning April 20, 2011 and running through April 30. Visit MetOperaFamily.org for more details. And if you won’t be able to make it to New York for the performance in person, you can watch the live, HD broadcast in a theater near you on Saturday, April 30. The April 30th simulcast will be Sondra Radvanovsky’s The Met: Live in HD performance debut. Click here to find out how to find a theater broadcasting, and to purchase tickets.
This is a very exciting performance not only for Dmitri, Sondra, and opera fans, but also for Delos, and Delos fans. As you know, Sondra Radvanovsky and Dmitri Hvorostovsky recently released “Verdi Opera Scenes” with Constantine Orbelian, and it just so happens that Act 4’s “confrontation scene” between Leonora and the Count di Luna is Track 4 on the album. To get you as excited about this performance as we are, we put together a video of Dmitri and Sondra performing this piece.
Enjoy:
Also, as a special bonus, Sondra Radvanovsky will be on the Delos Podcast next week doing an interview with writer/singer/critic, Lindsay Koob. You can find the other Delos Podcasts on EverydayOpera.com.
