New York
On Monday, Delos artist Louise Dubin returns from her tour of South Carolina to play works by Franchomme, Chopin and Schumann at Greenwich House Music School in New York City. Louise performs cello duos with Philippe Muller, who for many years held the cello professor positions at the Paris Conservatory— the same position Franchomme held at the same school, over 100 years earlier! He now teaches at the Manhattan School of Music and continues to tour the world as soloist and chamber musician. Louise will perform works by Schumann and Chopin with Helene Jeanney, the French-American pianist featured on The Franchomme Project.
This concert features composed music by three musical luminaries of the 19th century who were also colleagues.

Under the auspices of the Cello Association of France, Louise Dubin has been invited to VioloncellenSeine, their biennial cello convention. She will perform her transcriptions of Franchomme’s cello quartets in the famous Salle Gaveau in Paris on 12/2, and perform a full recital featuring Franchomme’s works for cello duo and cello and piano in the Salle Fauré at the CRR in Paris on 12/4. She will play the first concert with Philippe Muller, who taught cello at the Paris Conservatory for several decades, and with his former student Raphaël Pidoux, who has taken over the position since Philippe Muller moved to the Manhattan School of Music. This is the same teaching position that Auguste Franchomme held over 100 years ago!
